a hand up, not a hand out

When donating to PCs for Vets, you have two choices: 1) You can donate money, your time, or other resources to help "the ox that pulls the cart": Our organization. This money will go directly to paying our operating and organizational expenses. 2) You can donate money, your time, or other resources to directly help those that we serve: Homeless Veterans, Veterans in transitional housing, and low-income Veterans who are in permanent housing.

100% of your donations go to where you direct them.

We are a unique Charity: Some charities use a portion of your donation to pay their operating expenses. These operating expenses can be anywhere from 20% to 60% depending on how efficiently they operate. We are 100% efficient. We raise money separately for our operating expenses so that 100% of your donations to help Veterans go directly to those we serve.

We raise money separately for our operating expenses, and to help our Veterans. That way, if you donate money to help a Veteran, 100% of your donation goes to that purpose. If you donate money to help with our expenses, 100% of your donation goes to that purpose. You get to choose.

Our charity also operates under total transparency: Financial records will be available for viewing online, by the public, as soon as we reach nonprofit status. Also, once we meet the State and Federal requirements for a tax-exempt nonprofit charity in the public interest, your donation will be tax deductible.

multiply the power of your donation with the power of prayer

multiply THE POWER OF PRAYER BY USING A GLOBAL PRAYER CHAIN

We are a faith-based non-denominational charity. The reason we are non-denominational is because we partner with many different churches in our efforts to help Veterans. We believe in the power of prayer. This power can be amplified when many people (and churches) unite in a common prayer. Our mission is to create a global prayer chain to increase the efficiency and efficacy of prayer.

Belief in a higher power is common in third-world countries where the lack of resources causes a total dependence on God: For healing, well-being, solutions to problems, and life extension. Belief in the power of prayer is the key.

IT ALL BEGINS AND ENDS WITH FAITH

One enters into prayer by the narrow gate of faith. It is the face of the Lord that we seek and desire; it is his Word that we want to hear and keep. Once committed to conversion, the heart learns to pray in faith. Faith is an adherence to God beyond what we feel and understand. It is possible because the Son gives us access to the Father. He can ask us to 'seek' and to 'knock', since he himself is the door and the way.

PRAYER IS A COVENANT RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR GOD

Christian prayer is a covenant relationship between God and man in Christ. It is the action of God and of man, springing forth from both the Holy Spirit and ourselves, wholly directed to the Father, in union with the human will of the Son of God made man. The Holy Spirit instructs us in the life of prayer, inspiring new expressions of our prayers: blessing, petition, intercession, thanksgiving and praise. Christian prayer is a communion of love with the Father, not only through Christ but also in him. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought to, but the Spirit himself intercedes in ways too deep for words.

Please pray for some of the most vulnerable members of our society:

OUR HOMELESS VETERANS

One out of every four homeless have served in the military. Some of these are our SILENT HEROES: A group of homeless Veterans who are unable, unwilling, or don't know how to ask for help. We offer "a hand up" in the forms of information, encouragement, assistance, referrals, and access to basic resources.

OUR TRAUMATIZED VETERANS

OUR ALCOHOL DEPENDENT VETERANS

After active duty, many veterans, who served our country with honor, abuse alcohol. for many reasons, and often because of PTSD associated with their experience during military conflicts on the battlefield. We offer “a hand up” in the forms of information, assistance, referrals, encouragement, and access to basic resources.
